Recently, restrictions from some popular trucking routes in southeast Idaho have been removed by the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD). These changes will improve commerce and ease challenges faced by truckers. Additionally, the ITD will research other roads, removing restrictions where possible. Some changes have reduced detours cutting down on driving time.
D5 District Engineer Todd Hubbard said, “We have seen an increase in trucks on the routes. We know the routes are safe and the carriers are able to take the best possible route to their destination. This change has saved significant time and money for the trucking industry.”
