Job Description

This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of ready mix and haul trucks. Deliveries are made to both industrial and residential job sites. Drivers work under the direction of the Batch/Plant Manager, with dispatch assigning daily routes, shifts, and plant locations based on operational needs.

Drivers are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safe operating condition of their equipment, performing minor maintenance, and reporting major mechanical issues. Drivers are also expected to assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment around the batch plant.

Essential Functions:

  • Deliver materials safely according to customer specifications while maintaining professional communication with dispatch and customers.
  • Inspect and maintain truck appearance, tire pressure, fluid levels, fuel, hydraulic systems, coolant, and oil. Perform minor repairs when necessary.
  • Maintain load quality during transport, add fiber reinforcement or other additives as directed, and inspect concrete after proper mix time while reporting any issues.
  • Complete washout procedures throughout the day and at the end of each shift to prevent concrete buildup on equipment.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe operation of both truck and mixer.
  • Follow all DOT, environmental, safety, and company compliance requirements.
  • Follow assigned schedules, properly request PTO/vacation, and comply with attendance and call-in policies.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • This position is designated as a Van Eaton Ready Mix safety-sensitive position.

  • Overtime available
