Annual Pay: $58,800 +

Weekly Pay: $1,092 (48 hours guaranteed, paid weekly)
Hourly Pay with overtime after 40 hours

Schedule

  • Swing shift with 48 hours guaranteed
  • Day Shift: Friday & Saturday | 3:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Night Shift: Sunday & Monday | 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM
  • Days Off: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Home Daily | Local Position

Overview

Velocity Rail Solutions is hiring a CDL Class A Driver for a home‑daily locomotive fueling position in Tampa, FL. This is a local CDL job using automatic equipment, fueling locomotives with red‑dyed diesel.

Drivers will primarily perform locomotive fueling and will be cross‑trained on locomotive servicing equipment. Paid training is provided—no previous locomotive fueling experience required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fuel and defuel locomotives with red‑dyed diesel following hazmat and safety procedures
  • Load, transport, and transfer diesel to and from storage tanks
  • Complete diesel accounting paperwork accurately
  • Perform pre‑ and post‑shift vehicle and equipment inspections
  • Respond to dispatch requests as required
  • Wear required PPE and report spills or safety issues immediately
  • Assist with light equipment maintenance and general upkeep

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Hazmat (H) and Tanker (N) endorsements required (X endorsement accepted)
  • TWIC card required
  • Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screen, and background checks
  • Willingness to work swing shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong safety record and dependable attendance

Physical Requirements

  • Climb in and out of the truck cab multiple times per shift
  • Walk long distances on uneven surfaces
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
