Navistar Recall: Over 92,000 Trucks and Buses Affected by Antilock Braking Issue

road printed with recall

Navistar Inc. has announced a recall of over 92,000 trucks and buses across all its models. The antilock braking indicator does not illuminate during emergency stopping events, which can increase the risk of a vehicle crash.

All 2021-2024 vehicles in the noncompliance recall are affected, including the International LT, MV, RH, HX, HV, Lone Star, battery-powered eMV, and commercial buses. Navistar previously recalled 19,376 school buses for the same issue in a separate recall.

No crashes or injuries related to the condition have been reported.

The remedy is a simple software update that disables the blink code function, which interferes with the ABS indicator lamp signal broadcast over the Controller Area Network and causes the ABS indicator lamp to turn off.

Look out for customer and dealer notification letters, which will be mailed on July 24th. Ensure your vehicle’s safety by bringing your vehicle in for the software update.
