NAL Insurance previously had a Drivers of the Month recognition and they are bringing it back this September and will also be taking nominations! During the pandemic, the importance of trucking and truck drivers has been in the spotlight as we saw how many essentials are delivered by truck drivers. With people having to stay home, grocery stores running out of food, healthcare items being in high demand and other obstacles caused by COVID-19 and now inflation, truck drivers have maintained delivery of products throughout this mess.
Truckers had to stay on the road even though restaurants, truck stops, and businesses were closing. It wasn’t the most fun time to be a trucker, but the most essential time. According to Truck News, the “Thank a Trucker initiative was launched by NAL Insurance to provide drivers with meals and personal protective equipment kits while on the road, and to spread awareness and appreciation for their hard work.” When business began to re-open and things started returning to normal, they decided to continue their efforts by doing a Drivers of the Month program where people can nominate drivers for their efforts and recognize them as well.
Program sponsors: Rosedale Transport, Bison Transport, Carmen Transportation, Canadian Truck Warranty, Challenger Motor Freight, Fleet Safety Council, Highlight Motor Group, Industrial Alliance, KRTS Transportation Specialists, LUMA Brighter Learning, North York Rehabilitation Centre, Purves Redmond Limited, Revolution Staffing, Seaboard Transportation Group, Titanium Transport and Verspeeten Cartage.
If nominated and selected, drivers will receive a Tim Hortons gift card, social media recognition, and a gift of their choice up to a value of $250. You can nominate a driver by submitting their name, fleet, some photos and why you think they should be nominated as a Driver of the Month!
