Relay Payments and TA Team Up to Bring Drivers a Zero Fraud Fueling Option

Fuel card headaches are nothing new for truck drivers. Skimmers at the pump, suspicious charges, and long waits on the phone to fix them have become frustratingly common. A new partnership between Relay Payments and TravelCenters of America aims to cut those problems out of the picture.

Relay’s digital payment system is now accepted at TA, Petro Stopping Centers, and TA Express locations across the country. That means drivers can fuel up at some of the most popular stops on the highway without pulling out a physical card or worrying about whether a pump has been tampered with.

The move was pushed along by carriers who wanted a safer option at TA locations. Michael Stuewe, senior vice president of fleet sales at TA, said, “Our carrier customers have been asking for Relay acceptance at TA. Now, we’re delivering on that with Relay’s digital fuel payments that make fueling quicker, easier, and more secure.”

Drivers can use Relay inside or at the pump to pay for diesel and DEF through a cardless, digital process. The Relay app also shows which TA, Petro, and TA Express locations accept the service, making it simple to plan fuel stops along your route.

Ryan Droege, CEO and co-founder of Relay, said, “TA is an essential stop for our fleets and drivers. Extending Relay acceptance to TA’s network ensures our customers have a fast, secure way to pay wherever the road takes them.”

Relay’s system removes the risk of card skimming entirely since drivers never swipe a physical card. Fleets get more control over transactions, fewer fuel card issues to sort through, and less manual back office work. The company also backs users with a U.S.-based support team available 24/7, 365, helping drivers get problems handled quickly so they can stay on schedule and protect their hours.

For drivers who have dealt with fraud or slow payment systems in the past, this upgrade could mean fewer hassles, faster fueling, and more time rolling.
