Each year, drivers across the country take loads that matter, but few feel as meaningful as the work Schneider drivers complete during the holiday season. For the seventeenth year in a row, Schneider National Inc. is part of the Wreaths Across America Honor Fleet, helping carry thousands of wreaths to the men and women who served our country.
Drivers who volunteer for this effort support the mission of remembering the fallen, honoring those who serve, and teaching the next generation the value of freedom. Two of the trucks in this year’s effort are Ride of Pride tractors operating as moving tributes to veterans. These units feature patriotic artwork and are driven by Schneider drivers with military backgrounds. One of them is Patrice Cook, a U.S. Army Veteran who has taken part for four straight years.
“Delivering wreaths isn’t just a tradition for Wreaths Across America, it’s a responsibility we proudly uphold to honor those who sacrificed for our freedom,” Cook said. “Being part of Wreaths Across America is deeply meaningful because it allows us to give back to military families who have given so much for our country.”
This year, four Schneider drivers will move a combined total of twenty-four thousand wreaths to national cemeteries. The company’s support reaches across the country and adds to a long record of honoring military families. Schneider has been involved with Wreaths Across America since 2008 and has delivered tens of thousands of wreaths over the years.
The 2025 theme, Keep Moving Forward, reflects Schneider’s commitment to serving communities and supporting the people who work and live within them. For many associates with military backgrounds, participating in this mission is a way to reconnect with service and support families who understand sacrifice on a personal level.
One of the most visible parts of the effort is the Escort to Arlington. Cook will again take part and bring wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery while stopping at schools and memorials along the East Coast to share the story of Wreaths Across America. Three other drivers will transport wreaths to Texas, Florida, and Tennessee.
Nearly nineteen percent of Schneider associates have served in the military. Supporting Wreaths Across America highlights the company’s ongoing dedication to responsible operations and its focus on honoring those who protect the country. What began as a tradition in Maine has become a nationwide movement, placing more than a million wreaths on veterans’ graves every year.
National Wreath Day is held on Saturday with ceremonies scheduled in all fifty states and at sea and abroad. Schneider continues to encourage community involvement and gives associates opportunities to participate in efforts that make a difference.
