Maverick Transportation has bestowed its Four Million Miles of Safe Driving award upon Kirl Tartt, the company’s first and most experienced driver.
For 33 years, Tartt has skillfully navigated the roads, logging over four million miles behind the wheel. With almost five decades of experience as a flatbed driver, Tartt’s dedication and expertise have earned him numerous safety and career accolades.
Tartt’s remarkable journey includes tarping over 4,600 flatbed loads, completing over 6,200 deliveries, and clocking enough miles to travel around the globe 150 times.
“I have the utmost respect for Kirl, and I appreciate the things we have both learned from each other over the years,” said Operations Manager Lea Lindsey. “He has taught me a lot along the way, and I hope in some small way I have done the same for him.”
“Kirl is a very hard worker and a loyal employee,” said Operations Manager Van Beck. “He takes load securement and safety very seriously. He will help anyone if they ask for it, or if he sees someone struggling.”
Tartt was awarded $4,000 for reaching this milestone as well as a new safety plaque.
