Trucker honored for extinguishing another driver’s trailer fire

JW “Shorty” Carrington has been named a Highway Angel for his recent efforts to help a fellow driver when his trailer caught on fire. Carrington, a Louisiana trucker, noticed a trailer tire on fire ahead of him when he was driving Westbound on Highway 84. Shorty tells us, “I noticed flames that were occasionally shooting off his rear axle”. He then pulled up beside the driver and began to yell, “You’re on fire! You’re on fire!”

Carrington then pulls over in a way that would purposely block traffic off from the burning trailer. He then stepped out and used a fire extinguisher to put the fire out before it could spread. Highway Angels are presented with a lapel pin, patches, truck decals, and a certificate in recognition of such amazing work!
