Volvo is taking immediate action to ensure driver safety by recalling over 55,000 VNR, VNL, VHD, and VAH trucks from model years 2022-24. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has identified a potential problem with the windshield wiper motor gears, which could cause the motor to fail prematurely. This poses a significant risk to driver visibility, potentially leading to accidents.

Watch out for warning signs like intermittent wiper slowing or stopping during regular operation. Volvo acknowledges this issue before it worsens, aiming to prevent any accidents or injuries.

The good news is that Volvo dealers will promptly replace the entire windshield wiper motor assembly free of charge. Take note, affected truck owners will receive notification letters by September 15, keeping them informed and ready for a swift resolution.

This recall affects vehicles produced between May 1, 2021, and July 5, 2023. It specifically pertains to motors equipped with gears and lubricant sourced from unverified suppliers.
