Each year, Women In Trucking reviews transportation companies across the nation and awards a select number the recognition as a Top Company for Women to Work for in Transportation. This year, Peterbilt was among the recipients.

“Peterbilt values its diverse workforce,” said Jason Skoog, Peterbilt’s general manager. “Recognition as a Top Company for Women to Work for in Transportation for the sixth consecutive year reflects our ongoing commitment to providing career advancement opportunities that empower women in their careers and create a workplace culture that values and celebrates the contributions of all employees.”

WIT began this program five years ago in 2018. It was created to support their ongoing mission of shedding light on trucking industry companies that made achievements in focusing on the long-term employment and professional development of women looking to make careers in the industry.

While, historically, trucking has been a male-dominated field, that has been shifting in recent years as more women get behind the wheel. Many companies have recognized the valuable skills and advantages having a diverse workforce brings and have committed to hiring more women employees.

This awards program began in 2018 and was developed to support and continue WIT’s mission of recognizing the accomplishments of trucking industry companies focused on the employment and professional well-being of women seeking careers in the industry.
