Trucker named a true Angel after rescuing mother and child from crash

Earlier this week in Tennessee, trucker Christopher Hight from Mesa, Arizona, rescued a trapped mother and her baby right after a tractor-trailer accident. As he was driving between Laredo and Dallas, he saw the accident happen right in front of him on the road ahead. There was so much dust and after it cleared, he saw the 4-wheeler completely smashed. Without hesitation he pulled over safely and offered his help. The truck that caused the incident had also stopped to help. The car was hit so badly the truck was smashed up to the back seat where the baby was strapped. After attempting to peel away the layers of the broken car they were finally able to get the baby out with only a bloody lip. The baby was reunited with her mother and they all had an emotional moment as they shared the difficulties of watching a crash, especially with a child in harm’s way. Christopher was delighted to help, and as a father of 6 himself, did exactly what he needed to do.

The Truckload Carriers Association named him a Highway Angel and presented him with a certificate, patches, a lapel pin and truck decals! The Highway Angels is a program that highlights truck drivers like Christopher and have been since 1997.
