“The Pattersonville Service Area is now open to customers in newly renovated space and expanded amenities for commercial drivers, the first service area in the Capital Region to reopen with these services,” expressed Thruway Authority Executive Director Frank G. Hoare, Esq. “The Thruway Authority is committed to modernizing the transportation system, improving the travel experience for motorists and maintaining one of the safest superhighways in the nation.”
The redevelopment of all 27 service areas is part of a $450 million public-private venture with Empire State Thruway Partners. Notably, this construction employs neither toll nor tax funds.
