Registration has opened for the 2027 Best Fleets to Drive For Education & Awards Conference, scheduled for April 5-6 at the Midland Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri. The annual event will bring together trucking industry professionals to review findings from the Best Fleets to Drive For program and recognize carriers for their workplace practices.

The two-day conference will draw on fleet evaluations and driver surveys conducted as part of the annual program, with current and previous award recipients sharing information about their operations. Discussions will focus on safety, training, employee satisfaction and other practices that have contributed to their recognition.

Jane Jazrawy, CEO of CarriersEdge, said the event was intended to help carriers learn from one another by examining programs already in use at recognized fleets. Attendees will have access to findings from the latest evaluation cycle, along with firsthand accounts of how participating companies have developed their workplace initiatives.

Nominations Remain Open Through October 31

Before the conference takes place, the program will complete its evaluation of candidates for the 2027 awards. Nominations are currently being accepted through October 31, 2026, giving trucking companies across North America an opportunity to participate.

The selection process incorporates information about each fleet’s workplace policies and programs, along with feedback gathered directly from its drivers. Those responses contribute to the annual assessment and provide additional context about the employment experience at participating carriers.

The results will determine the 2027 Top 20 Best Fleets to Drive For, which will be recognized during the April conference. The event will also honor Hall of Fame fleets and Fleets to Watch, with three overall winners announced in the large-fleet, small-fleet and Hall of Fame categories.

For professional drivers, the recognition offers another source of information about carriers’ employment practices. Because driver survey responses are incorporated into the evaluation, the program considers employee perspectives alongside the policies and benefits reported by participating companies.

Conference Registration Open to All Industry Professionals

Although the awards recognize companies participating in the Best Fleets to Drive For program, attendance at the conference is not restricted to nominees or previous winners. Fleet executives, safety professionals, human resources representatives and other interested industry participants can register.

Organizers have made early registration pricing available for a limited time and will restrict vendor participation to event sponsors. The conference will remain focused on educational sessions and recognition of the selected fleets.

Nominations for the 2027 awards and registration information for the April 5-6 conference are available through the official Best Fleets to Drive For website.
